Caring for the generation
that first cared for us.

Mr Donald Robertson

Donald Robertson has always had a robust attitude to life. Living in the West End of Glasgow, Donald spent his working life building a successful insurance brokerage and enjoying photography, gardening and cooking in his free time.

Donald retired early from his career after a diagnosis of Parkinsons disease, but with some help from Bright Care, he continues to enjoy his leisure pursuits and leads a purposeful and meaningful life.

Speaking of his experience of using Bright Care’s services…

When I was being discharged from a five month stay in hospital I was given the choice of living in a care home for a few weeks, or organising care in my own home, which meant I could go straight from hospital to home. I saw an advert for Bright Care and after doing some research and meeting the manager, I decided to purchase a private care package from Bright Care and I have not looked back since. I have a visit from Bright Care seven days per week for five hour blocks. During this time, my carers and I can cook together, go shopping, go for walks together and I am supported to socialise with my friends both at home or on outings. My carers take care of my home and attend to all household duties as well as assisting with my personal care needs. They also support me with physiotherapy sessions and I am delighted to say that I am now able to walk short distances again, defying all odds as the medical staff at the hospital never thought I would ever make this progress. The Bright Care team are trustworthy, reliable and genuinely nice people. They are attentive and have never declined anything that I have asked them to do…..yet! The office staff are friendly, helpful, and I am made to feel at ease when corresponding with them. Overall, I am very satisfied with the service I receive and impressed with the attention to detail and caring nature of all at Bright Care.
